From left: Stacey Solomen, Lucie Jones, Kandy Rain, Rachel Adediji
Stacey wore a Dolce&Gabbana Marilyn Monroe top with a wide belt and towering studded heels. We found the same top online from Peacocks (£6, €6.50) and her ruched waist belt in Mango (£18, €19.50). Stacey’s blue jeans are James Jeans from Selfridges and her red patent shoes with gold studs are Carvela.
Stacey’s shimmering eyes were nothing short of show-stopping. X Factor make-up guru Jackie Tyson created her purple smoky eye look using L’Oreal Paris Colour Appeal Trio Pro Eye Shadow in Ultra Violet.
Next up is our favourite contestant at the moment, Welsh Lucie . She certainly had the extra factor on Saturday with her amazing purple asymmetric BCBGMAXAZRIA dress (which is now sold out due to popular demand on My-Wardrobe.com!). Her shoes were Buckle Strap Platforms from high street favourite River Island (£79.99 €86). On Sunday she wore another stunning dress, this time an Acne denim strapless dress (€575, My-Wardrobe.com).
Jones has seen a radical transformation in a week, thanks to her judge and mentor Danni Minogue. Lucie has had her teeth bleached to within an inch of their lives, her hair dyed darker and extensions put in. Her eyebrows have been shaped and thinned out too.
We still think that Lucie is really pretty and has an impeccable look that made her freckles shine through. You can achieve this ‘fresh-faced’ look by keeping your makeup base sheer. Cover any blemishes with L’Oreal Paris True Match Touché Magique Anti-fatigue and Illuminating concealer. The base is then finished with some blusher and a sparkly setting powder – that doubles up as a subtle highlighter.
Judge Cheryl Cole criticised Kandy Rain for dressing scantily and Simon Cowell got some stick when he didn’t know the names of the girls in the band.
We have to confess that we don’t know their names either but the girl pictured extreme left rocked this bang-on-trend body last week. The Sportmax Bagagli Black Ruche Padded Body (€156, My-wardrobe.com) has statement padded shoulders and bodycon ruching and would be perfect worn with a demure pair of black trousers.
Long before we saw Rachel appear on stage last Saturday, we were smitten with Breton tops. This is why we were so excited to see her wearing this sequinned Breton top with shoulder pads, which was custom made for her. It is so Balmain autumn winter 2009, it’s uncanny. Although this designer piece may be worth the investment for some, we found a simlar long-sleeved top in H&M. To mimic the Balmain silhouette, just add shoulder pads to this classic top to create your own, very now, look.
Rachel’s KG by Kurt Geiger Eleanor court shoes (£130, €140) were very orange , very high and such a contrast to her laid back style seen during the auditions and in boot camp. Rachel’s jeans are from River Island. We found a dead ringer for her shoes in Penny Leather Suede Court Shoe (£40, €43, ASOS). Rachel’s outfit is so wearable for day or for night and together with her bold green eye shadow and red L’Oreal Glam Shine Lip Gloss, she wins our X-Factor look of the week.
All the girls were wearing Shapewear by Flexees.
