Pictured left to right Aoife Kelly, me Anne Marie Boyhan and Corina Gaffey flying the flag for the Irish at the Scottish Fashion Awards.
I was invited to attend the Scottish Fashion Awards in Glasgow with Visit Scotland and after accepting the invite the first thing that crossed my mind was what on EARTH was I going to wear!
The dress code was “black tie”, which for girls, can be a cocktail dress or full length (this didn’t make the decision any easier) and I eventually decided on this blue Ingénue Romy maxi dress.
I bought two of Ingénue London’s wrap dresses (love them for THAT Kate Middleton look) before but choose this one for its vibrant Royal Blue colour and maxi length- there is something that keeps drawing me to strong jewel colours.
The girls at Ingénue went really out of their way to dress me and even shipped the dresses direct to the Malmaison hotel in Glasgow where I was staying (I was deciding between wearing a vintage looking pink style and the blue Romy maxi) so I was thrilled when the dress actually fit me and worked out.
Before getting my guna on, I headed to the VIP Swarovski Style Suite at the Blythswood Square hotel to see if I could get photos of any celebs that were getting their hair and makeup done (and was ecstatic to spot Made in Chelsea’s Millie Macintosh there).
Then I was introduced to Leslie Blodgett, founder of billion-dollar make-up brand Bare Escentuals, who flew in from San Francisco for the awards and got my makeup done by one of the Bare Minerals artists.
So a special thanks to Ingénue London for kitting me out and Bare Minerals for doing my makeup for my first red carpet do!
