Accessory Alert: Wedge Trainers

Pictured clockwise from top: Amy Huberman’s shoe range with Bourbon, the Bourbon Amy Huberman wedge runners I got as a Christmas pressie, Penneys wedge runners and Isabel Marant wedge trainers.

First spotted on the Isabel Marant catwalk, these high top runners are now the go-to shoes of models off duty, fashion editors and everyone one else in-between.

New mums who have to ditch their heels for flats are wearing them too and who would blame them as they are comfortable yet still give a bit of height.

An Isabel Marant pair will cost you €395 on Netaporter (they are sold out in black) and Penneys are currently selling them for €20. Their black with a white sole ones look surprisingly like the Isabel Marant runners and the Penneys pair also come in black suede with a touch of glitter and in beige.

Ash wedge trainers are a great alternative (again they look like the Isabel Marant pair and will last longer than a Penneys pair) and are €210 at Cocobelle, Royal Hibernian Way, Dublin.

Amy Huberman has come out with a line of wedge trainers which we’re sure to see this mum-to-be sporting them soon. The Amy Huberman “Bourbon” collection is available at Serena in Sandymount and cost €119 a pair. They’re super comfy and look good to boot! (Trust us, we’re wearing them).

Wear them with skinny jeans or leather trousers –same colour jean and trainer worn together, look best.

Will you be wearing wedge trainers this season or are they a step too far for you?
