The big band theme on Saturday 24 October inspired some serious Hollywood glamour amongst contestants and judges alike.

The most wow outfit, in our opinion, went to Cheryl Cole, who on Saturday night wore yet another Atelier Versace Spring 2009 dress. Cole ditched the short Atelier Versace minis from the previous two weeks, for a white, floor length gown which we thought was utterly divine. It was the same designer and dress that Penelope Cruz wore to the Vanity Fair Oscars after party in February.

Cheryl’s hair was like that of a 40’s Hollywood siren, accessorising with a modified bridal headband by Jenny Packham.

On Sunday night Cheryl upped the fashion ante in a Julian Macdonald silver scale mermaid-like dress (pictured) from his spring summer 2010 collection. Cheryl Cole is certainly a fan of Macdonald, as last week during her own live performance, her see-through body was by the very same designer.

Lucie Jones

Bridal designer wear were also a popular choice on Saturday, as both Lucie and Stacey wore customised dresses by Suzanne Neville. This designer won Best British bridal Designer 2009 and also dressed Miss Frank in chic suits on the night.

For Sunday’s group song, Lucie swapped designer for high street in a Lipsy futuristic prom dress, £60, €67 (pictured).

We are loving the monochrome houndstooth trend which appeared on Sunday night on the ever talkative Stacey.

This French Connection sequin Dazzi dress comes in black and white or fuschia and white (pictured,£180, €200).
