Practically every piece of arm candy we spotted at Milan Fashion week, if it wasn’t a simple Celine style, was covered in tough studs, metal or chains – especially in gold.
But if you’re reading this thinking, “well that’s nothing new”, then you’d be right –bold hardware was seen on Gucci bags two years ago (Rihanna was a big fan of their Babouska Button Bag) and studs, especially stud detail handbags, have been popular for a couple of seasons now.
But as not everyone can afford the price tag of an IT bag, a Tabitha handbag is the perfect stud-o-rama fix between high street and designer. Founded by Tabitha Somerset in 2003, Tabitha bags have fast become the must have brand and the current collection boasts statement bags that fashionistas and celebrities have been buying in bulk.
Fearne Cotton is seen here carrying the Saturn bag (€325) with her leopard print coat while our favourite Brit in Hollywood, Cat Deeley is seen carrying the Orion bag (€320), a slouchy tote which is also a firm favourite of X Factor stylista Dannii Minogue.
In Ireland, you can buy Tabitha at Arnotts or online at http://www.tabitha.uk.com
Great for adding an edge to a ladylike look, if investing in this stellar handbag label is not in your cards, Topshop’s The Tallulah Bag by Marc B** (£35, €40 ) is also an excellent choice.

I have a gorgeous grey Tabitha bag I picked up in the clearance section of TK Maxx a couple of years ago for €16 – I couldn’t believe it when I checked up how much they cost originally online!
