Style on a budget was a big theme you requested when we asked about new content for the site so we’re going to do a Budget Buys feature for you going forward, featuring the top budget shopping buys that we happen upon. First up, what to pack for your summer holidays.
We were impressed when we spotted the new swimwear collection from Tesco last week. That’s right, while you shop (for your dinner) some Tesco stores have women’s, men’s and kid’s clothing along the aisles.
Their swimsuits and bikinis range from the skimpy to the tankini (two piece), are sold as separates (ideal if you’re a different size on top than on the bottom) and have the added support of an underwire in most styles. Support is a huge factor for getting your beachwear look just right – prop up those boobs ladies, just like you would with your normal bra!
In fact, all of 0ur top budget buys for a sun holiday are supermarket chic:
Polka Dot Swimsuit, €16.50 (main image)
This polka dot all in one swimsuit is uber flattering thanks to its halter neck top (the style Coleen Rooney swears by), and polka dots are a classic that will forever be in style. It’s got a tiny peplum, so it’s bang on trend too. Also comes in a tankini and bikini. In stores in June.
One Shoulder Maxi Dress, €21.50
Comes in pink and black. Jersey is a great, fuss free and flattering fabric when comes to beachwear and this is a simple, stylish solution to throw on when heading straight from beach to bar.
Style tip: wear with a straw trilby hat or cowboy hat a la Cheryl Cole, €6 from Penneys.
Denim shorts, to the knee €16
Denim cut-offs are a summer staple in our wardrobe and come out for weekends, festivals and holidays. These ones are to the knee – perfect for those conscious of their upper legs and a bargain at €16 (we spotted the same pair in Marks & Spencer’s for €40!). In store now.
There’s no point in breaking the bank for something that you might only wear once a year and we think these budget buys will be in your holiday suitcase for many years to come.Tweet
