And so the last of the champagne bottles lie empty and the Pimms (a first for us!) jugs have been washed. After 6 months of excitement, the Royal Wedding is finally over. And what a day it was. The street parties were not limited to the UK. Oh no.
We threw a Royal Wedding Watching party in the opulent surroundings of Boodles fine jewellers on Grafton Street, Dublin (who, by the way, have dressed Victoria Smurfit and Jolie Richardson in diamonds for the IFTAS) and run the Boodles Boxing Ball, a London society event which Kate and William attend.
A sea of festive bunting greeted fashion forward guests and WSW readers on their arrival to a morning of lighthearted fun where we watched “en famille” on the fashion event of the decade.
We rejoiced together as Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen was revealed. Our first sighting of THE DRESS was via large screen TVs; there were sapphire sampling (with a blue one below, which is like Kate’s engagement ring, weighing in at 220,000 Euro! ) tweeting and general taking-in all the festivities.
