Shopping: Buying & Selling Designer Gear

We’ve found two new online shopping sites selling pre loved designer clothes bags and shoes. They can be shopped from the comfort of your own home and are sure to be a hit with girls who love a designer bargain. Read on for all the details.

Us girls do like a bit of designer wear from time and time and with Net-a-porter not always within our reach, we welcome the new online spaces for buying and selling designer wear.
Just look at Kate Middleton who was recently spotted wearing a pre loved Missoni coat (Pre loved is a nicer way of saying “second hand”,  by the way) and these clothes, shoes and bags can now be bought and sold online through two new shopping websites on our radar:

For those of us who would love to own a Victoria Beckham or Mary Katrantzou dress or a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes but can’t justify the cost, this is the place to shop.

Irish owned and run by two friends Orlagh and Laura, shopping for second hand designer brands is easy. All items are photographed beautifully with detailed descriptions, a guideline of the original price and the new much reduced price. From Burberry to Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham to Acne, labels are listed as – Never been worn, Worn once or Worn with love and once you’ve made your purchase, the item is delivered to your door within 48hours.

To earn some extra cash, allows you to sell those designer clothes you love but hardly every wear –  all you need to do is fill in the sell form on the website outlining what you would like to sell and will do the rest –collecting your items, photographing each item, presenting the item on the site, to final packaging and posting of your sold items to the buyers. The website charges 50% commission on the agreed re-sale price with the seller.

Founded by London based Dublin gal Nicola McClafferty, Covetique accepts, curates and edits quality designer brands, decides on the press to sell it at and gives it a pretty place online on its website, taking a 37.5% cut as commission.

The Pre loved labels are impressive – and in some cases never worn – you’ll find Mulberry and Chanel bags, Louboutins, Manolos, Chanel bucle jackets and Jbrand jeans all waiting for a new home.
