Hello readers and happy Saturday!
It’s been a long week. I was attending a social media conference for my day job yesterday (I work full time in marketing heading up social media for a financial services company) and when Adele Cooper from Pinterest was onstage yesterday giving tips on how best to use the platform. All I could think of was my own Pinterest journey and how I’ve constantly been using it to plan my rooms and purchases for the new house. Endless searches, browsing and pinning! And eventually buying once I’m happy with my inspirational pins.
The search for ‘oak stools’ to go under our kitchen island was hard. Lots of Pinterest searches together with a tip off from my sister Catherine (who is the oracle when it comes to where to find any piece of furniture or home ware) I found the perfect ones at Cox & Cox.
At £175 a stool these stools ain’t cheep but I kept checking the Cox & Cox website, signed up for their newsletter and a few weeks later there was 20% off. They are called ‘weathered oak stools’ (H 81 x W 39 x D 36cm) and seem to always be on the site but never in the big January sales. Shipping to Ireland was £20.
When they arrived they were perfect!
But alas at 81cms they were too high for little short me to sit on- I was towering uncomfortably over the counter top when I sat on them.
In the end I had 5 cms chopped off them – this is a big job and I wouldn’t task anyone to do it except my brother-in-law Philip who is so meticulous and had all the right tools to do it right. Result! I’m ever thankful to him for his precision.
Have a lovely weekend.
