With summer in full swing, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to slip your pretty pedicure into.
This summer’s nude wedge sandal is a go-to wedge that will see you through many seasons to come, as the neutral shade will go with almost everything.
With lots of neutral shoes on the shelves, I’ve picked out a few of my favourites, to help you find a pair to complement your wardrobe.
How to wear nude wedges
Wear neutral coloured wedges with city shorts and a blazer for a smart look or with denim cut offs and a vest for a laid back vibe.
You can even wear them with a summer dress and jacket, like Reese Witherspoon. While taking a break from filming in LA, Reese wore a red floral Madewell dress, topped with this year’s festival essential, a green army jacket. She accessorises with a trilby hat, Ray-Bans sunglasses and a pair of nude wedge sandals.
To steal Reese’s warm weather dress sense, try this red floral dress by Pearl Lowe for Peacocks (£30) – the new collection by Daisy Loewe’s mum Pearl, the fashion and textile designer.
As for her nude wedges, GAP has two amazing styles at the moment (pictured) but unfortunately none of GAP’s three stores in Ireland carry them. A nice alternative however, are these Longtin nude wedges from Aldo (£70).
Nude espadrilles
If you prefer a less urban look and more of a holiday feel, these Virtue espadrille wedges in nude, also from Aldo (£55 and only 2.5 inches in height), will fit the bill perfectly.
Nude patent sandals
If patent is the shoe finish you’re after, then Reiss is your go-to shop for this of-the-moment shoe.
Asos Stingray sandals
And finally, my favourite nude wedges du jour are this stingray style from Asos which look very much like the Burberry version. But unfortunately, since the stylist Rachel Zoe mentioned them as one of her must-have sandals for summer; they are only available in a size 7 and 8! So you big-foot beauties are in luck.
So, no matter which one you choose, a nude wedge is a an ideal shoe for summer because not only does it lengthen your leg when you wear it with shorter hemlines, but it also bridges the gap between heels and flat casual shoes.

Got these in Clarkes in Bedford Row, Limerick yesterday http://www.clarks.co.uk/find/department-is-women/producttype-is-sandals/heelheight-is-mid/product-is-20339658
They are so comfortable it’s like wearing slippers! They were down in the sale and included in a “buy 2 pairs get 3rd free” offer. So got 3 lovely pairs of shoes for €80.
