Anthropologie to sell online
This American cooler than cool, cross between Avoca and Urban Outfitters shop is going online with Anthtropologie.eu which will service Ireland, the U.K. and other European markets and sell items in various currencies.
Anthropologie opened their first European store in London’s Regent Street in October 2009 selling homeware, clothes, shoes, bags jewellery and other accessories.
Sonia Rykiel for H&M
The second part of Sonia Rykiel’s collaboration with H&M launches in February (read about the first part here). This knitwear collection will be available around the world on 20 February 2010.
SATC 2 Movie
Sex and the City Two, the highly anticipated sequel movie, will premiere on 28 May 2010. What happens to Carrie after finally marrying Big? I’ll be at the top of the queue to find out. Watch the film trailer on YouTube.
Henry Holland for Debenhams
The young British designer Henry Holland has created his first diffusion line for Debenhams and it’s due to be unveiled sometime in 2010. I’ve had a sneak peak at this yellow zip front dress (£30, pictured) which is one of the pieces from the collection.
H&M and Zara to go online
Zara and H&M have both announced that they will go online in the UK in autumn 2010. Sterling prices and good shipping rates to Ireland could make it worthwhile for us to give it a go.
Topshop designer collaborations 2010
Ann Sofie Back, Ashish, and Jonathan Saunders are all due to hit Topshop in early 2010.
My Best Friend’s Wedding
Not the movie but rather the fact that friends are still getting married either here or abroad and I still take joy in planning my outfit, packing for a destination wedding, discussing theirs, what to wear to the hen, crying at the speeches and ruining my makeup etc. In fact in 2010, I’ll even be attending a Christening and a Communion. Life would be dull without them.
Annual Holidays
This year I made it to The Cook Islands, The Scottish Highlands and Westport – so a variety of clothing was called for! Nothing is set in stone yet for 2010 but I look forward to counting the days down to my annual holiday.
Whether you’re planning a staycation or jetting off to the sun, be sure to read our holiday packing guide to be ultra ready and not over pack your suitcase.
2010 Festivals
Whether you’re going to Oxygen on 9 – 11 July 2010, Electric Picnic on 3-5 September 2010, Castlepalooza in August or the copius amounts of other festivals that crop up on bank holiday weekends over the course of the year, it’s fun to get together with friends and rock on, chill or generally play in the mud.
2010 Sporting Events
My life also revolves around sporting events – either attending them live here in Ireland, watching them on TV with friends in the pub or travelling abroad to see our favourite team or country play. So what to look forward to in next years sporting calendar?
There’s the Lansdowne Road (Aviva) Stadium reopening in July 2010, attending Ladies Day at the Galway Races on 29 July 2010 and “sleb”spotting at the JP McManus Golf Tournament in Adare Manor on 5 July where Hugh Grant, Samuel L Jackson and even Tiger Woods will be playing a few rounds at this invite-only-event-for-charity.
