Have you checked out yet ? It’s a new Irish website dedicated to accessories; from brilliant bags to lipstick and décor for home.  The woman behind it all is Kirstie McDermott, previously of who is not only a talented writer and blogger but an all round interweb know-it-all too.

Here, she reveals her wardrobe to us as this month’s Guest Editor.

Favourite Spring Summer ’13 trend and how you’ll be wearing it:

I love stripes, always have, always will. So I’m very happy they’re back, especially monochrome ones, and I love Marc Jacobs even more for making it so.

Favourite indigenous shop in Ireland:

Tough one. I have a lot of admiration and love for many of our excellently curated boutiques but thanks to the joy of freelancing, don’t get to spend so much, especially recently. Om Diva is one that does a fantastic incubation service for young designer-makers, particularly for accessible jewellery pieces from designers like Capulet and Montague.

Favourite Shop – clothing or otherwise – in another country:

I am very, very fond of Colette and always beetle to it when I’m in Paris. Such beautifully sourced stock and limited pieces that are created just for the store and it has a really small but good beauty edit too.

Go-to piece in your wardrobe:

I tend to have go-to accessories these days; I’ve really toned it down on the clothes front in the last few years. My current go-to is a Moxham Anubis necklace in yellow which brightens not only my face but pretty much everything I wear it with. It’s an amazing standout piece and I love it.

Favourite Shoes:

Right now, it’s the cheapest pair I own. They’re a pair of stacked wedge creepers from New Look and they were, ssshh, €29.99. And I love them.

Currently it’s a Pauric by Pauric Sweeney leather tote which has taken a massive and sustained bashing and which has taken it in remarkably good spirits. Testament to the fact that spending a bit on a good quality bag usually pays off.

L’eau d’Hadrien by Annick Goutal is my all-time favourite juice but of last year’s launches, Balenciaga’s Florabotanica stole my heart in the mass market.

Beauty Salon or treatment of choice

Can’t beat a facial. The Omorovicza one, which comes to Harvey Nichols Dundrum a couple of times a year, is superb. The Hungarians excel at facial massage and this is just amazing – you’ve got a different complexion afterwards.

Best Bargain buy:

See New Look creepers above. I’m not much of a bargain hunter so I was doubly pleased with ‘em.

Biggest splurge:

I don’t think I’ve had it yet …

Three words to describe your personal style:

Messy. Messier and messiest.

Fashion pet hate:

Matchy matchy accessories. Argh!

Fashion gadget:

My iPhone. Without a doubt. It’s packed full of apps like Snappette and Instagram plus various news feed apps like Newswhip and Summizer set to filter me fashion and beauty news as well as things like Twitter and Pinterest, so I can keep up with whatever’s happening, all the time, in the area that interests me.

Top style tip:

Don’t listen to top style tips. If you feel great and confident in what you’re wearing then that’s fantastic.

Most insane thing you’ve ever done for the love of fashion or beauty:

Apart from running up massive credit card bills (but we all do that) I guess it would be having a hose stuck up my bum for the purposes of experiencing a colonic irrigation so I could review it.  It was pretty … unusual.

If you love Kirstie’s tips, you’re gonna love her website, too.
