Ask The Stylist

Guest Stylist’s Picks

Summer holiday season is well in full swing and while our holiday packing guide has had an overwhelming response from the readers –we decided to ask our super stylist Ingrid Hoey, for advice on what she would pick for her summer holidays.

While the stylist Ingrid Hoey is best known for dressing ladies like actress Amy Huberman and Emma Ledden (the current celeb judge on Xpose’s Total Exposure), we figured that our beloved fashion insider might be able to provide us with a super stylish summer holiday wish list—hence today’s  Guest Stylist’s Picks.

Our demands weren’t easy either; we asked Ingrid that her capsule wardrobe pieces would all work together too. Luckily for you dear reader, Ingrid was true to form and stepped up to the mark.

You can check out Ingrid Hoey’s own services on and her previous tips on

White Jeans

I love these Citizens of Humanity white jeans. These are from ($132, €93). They are a great fit and length and will be a staple part of your holiday wardrobe.  Just team them with great sandals and go!

I just adore these orange sandals from Topshop (€87). They are versatile and great to wear  to a girlie lunch matched with a maxi dress – alternatively you can wear them during the day with denim cut offs.  The colour is fab and the thin straps are very flattering also.

Bag (not pictured)

A versatile bag is a must for during the daytime on holiday. I would go for this kitsch beach bag from Topshop – what’s not to love about it? I love the soft colour and the horseshoe detail is bang on trend too.

Melissa Odabash is a pure indulgence for a bikini but a good investment.  They are incredibly well cut and have a very flattering shape. This coral coloured “Sophie” one (£129, €149) would look amazing on sun kissed skin!!  Available from

For sunglasses one pair I keep going back to are my Tom Ford “Olivia” sunglasses (€191.95). These are worn by every celebrity from Jennifer Aniston to Madonna to Lauren Conrad to name but a few. The shape on them is timeless and very flattering and they are available from   LOVE THEM!

Jewellery (not pictured)

My favourite piece of jewellery is from Loulerie (14B Chatham St, Dublin 2).  It is this fantastic cuff from Rachel Leigh. This designer’s statement bib necklaces and cuffs have featured on the TV show Gossip Girl. The blue and brown stones on this cuff mean that it looks great with both jeans and a dress. I haven’t taken it off since I bought it!
