New Scent from Jo Malone

Hitting the shops today is a tantalising new scent called Vanilla & Anise from Jo Malone.

I’m very excited about this new scent as my favourite perfume is already a Jo Malone one – it’s called Pomegranate Noir.  Their scents are easy to layer by mixing up their colognes. Try it next time you’re in their shops by playing around with the scents on display.

On my trip to London last week, I was delighted to see an amazing new shopping experience at Dublin airport, including a Jo Malone shop! Airport shopping means cheaper prices than in their normal retail stores so I availed of the opportunity for a quick spritz of my signature scent before getting on the plane.

The scent isn’t too sweet like vanilla perfumes can sometimes be (think White Musk by The Body Shop). In fact the smell is much warmer than you might expect.

The new scent was inspired by the delicate vanilla orchid (pictured right), and is intended to take you on an escape to the special time of year in Madagascar where vanilla orchids bloom. The fragrance has been blended with bergamot, neroli, wild fennel flower, star anise, oleander, tuberose, tonka bean, frangipani, white amber, vetiver, vanilla bourbon absolute and a touch of spicy clove to give it heart and depth.

If you’re lucky enough to live in London the flagship shop on Sloane Street is celebrating its 10th anniversary, so pop in between the 14 and 20 of September to receive a free hand massage, vanilla champagne, tea and petit fours. The cologne will be available in the statutory Jo Malone sized bottles of 30ml and 100ml selling from £32-£64 (€45-€80).

So, what is your favourite perfume?

I’m currently wearing Touch of Pink by Lacoste. It’s nice and fresh and not too strong (as perfume can set me off sneezing if there’s enough on!).

I really only get to know perfumes from traipsing through airports so the shop in the airport is a good idea. I’ll always wait til my next trip abroad before buying a perfume. Bought the above on special on a ryanair flight (well ryanair have put the cheap in to flying!).

Good idea. Aer Lingus also do some good reductions in-flight.Worth doing research and waiting for your next trip to get real value for money. Luckily you don’t live on the East Coast of Canada where they are anti-wearing perfume! Imagine?

It’s true- In Halifax, Nova Scotia, most public buildings have a “No Scents in Good Sense” policy, with cute little posters all over the place to remind you that perfume is what NOT to wear in this otherwise very cool city.

Yes, I bought the pomegranate noir as a birthday present for a friend on my way to the US last week, and wished I bought one for myself :-(
I also noticed on BA flight back from Stockholm the other day that they are doing an in-flight multipack of all the scents in smaller sized bottles – wonderful if you want to mix and match or layer!

In the meantime I am enjoying my lovely new Benefit scent!!

Incredible! This blog looks exactly like my old
one! It’s on a totally different subject but it has pretty much the same page layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!
