To the Radisson in Galway city for a celebration and recognition of Ireland’s fashion creatives, for the third annual Irish Fashion Innovation Awards.
Judging on the night was Eddie Shanahan – Chairperson at the Council of Irish Fashion Designers, Bairbre Power – Fashion Editor and two of the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards success stories, Milliner Mark T. Burke and designer Una Burke.
The first award of the night was the Student Designer of the Year 2012 which went to Laura Abraham from the BDes Hons Textiles and Fashion course in the School of Art and Design at Ulster University.
Tuula Harrington took the award of Jewellery Designer of the Year 2012 while thr Accessory Designer of the Year 2012 went to Lisa Ryder whose digitally printed scarves on fine silks are a must have.
Aisling Ahern scooped The Millinery Designer of the Year and Designer of the Year 2012 went to Natalie Coleman who showcased her visually beautiful Spring/Summer 2012 ‘All the Jewellery I Never Got’, pictured above.
Aisling, who we snapped at Galway Races last year, summed it up perfectly on Facebook declaring, “What a super night at the Fashion Innovation Awards! A big thanks to all involved, a wonderful extravaganza and of course my Milliner of the Year Award. Totally shocked! ”
