The Olympics Opening ceremony kicks off tonight and it’s shaping up to be the most stylish Olympic Games to date. Many teams have teamed up with (excuse the pun) fashion designers and design houses for their travel and performance kit.
Stella McCartney for adidas was first to announce a design for Team Great Britain but there’s also Hermes for the French equestrian team, Emporio Armani EA7 for Team Italy (pictured above in Black and white) and Prada for the Italian Olympic sailing team.
Ralph Lauren for Team USA is also getting in on the action while Italian designer Ermanno Servino has created the Olympics kit for Azerbaijan.
Even Jamaica is in on the act, which saw Cedella Marley (Bob Marley’s daughter) partnering with Puma for their Olympics kit.
Salvatore Ferragamo’s chic trench coat (pictured main image) for the Republic of San Marino’s team is, although not very sporty, the perfect off track cover-up for London showers.
Meanwhile Katie Taylor and Team Ireland are wearing Asics – but we’d have loved to have seen them showcase some Irish designers – Simone Rocha could certainly have come up with a sports luxe take on a tracksuit!
