Galway Races Ladies Day takes place on Thursday 29th July and Anthony Ryan’s Best Dressed Competition has a prize fund of €20000 with the Best Dressed Lady set to scoop a prize worth over €12000, the largest prize on offer to the winner of a Best Lady Dressed Competition in Ireland this summer.

Well I’m glad to report that I’ve survived my first ever trip to the Galway Races. And what a day it was. The sun shone on Ladies Day and there was no sign of a recession at all with glamorous ladies clamouring in the Champagne tent for Moet at €95 a bottle (the cheaper option was sparkling wine for €75!).
