Jo Malone is delighted to announce an exciting collaboration with The Merrion Hotel, one of the finest luxury hotels in Dublin city, offering a bespoke afternoon tea available exclusively in The Drawing Rooms throughout March 2010.
In celebration of the launch of Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise (see our review here) , the latest fragrance from the world of Jo Malone, Ed Cooney, Executive Head Chef at The Merrion Hotel has created a menu guaranteed to tantalize the taste buds of afternoon tea and scent enthusiasts alike.
A warm and unexpected fragrance combining vanilla orchid blossoms and wild flowers found in the valleys of Madagascar, Chef Cooney has been inspired by the subtle flavours of Vanilla, Star Anise, Frangipani, Madagascar Clove and White Amber.
He has created stunning delicacies such as anise chocolate mousse cake on a vanilla and orange financier, vanilla pannacotta with caramelised plums and orange and star anise tartlets, which are served as the tea’s pièce d résistance, complimenting the existing dainty sandwiches and freshly baked scones served with cream and preserves.
While guests enjoy their afternoon tea, details of the unique ingredients plus complimentary samples in Jo Malone’s signature black and cream, will be gifted at each table setting. In addition, each guest will also receive an exclusive invitation to experience a complimentary Hand & Arm Massage at the Jo Malone boutique, located in the Luxury Hall at Brown Thomas, minutes away from the hotel.
The hotel’s collaboration with Jo Malone perfectly combines both brands’ philosophies of quality and luxury to promise the ultimate taste experience.
The Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise Afternoon Tea costs €36.00 per person and is available at
The Merrion Hotel, Dublin throughout the month of March 2010 only.

I love afternoon tea but have never tried any out in Dublin yet. I’m just back from London where I enjoyed afternoon tea with my sister in the roof top retaurant of The National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar square. The place is really funky with great views over Londons rooftops (The London eye, Big Ben etc!) http://www.npg.org.uk:8080/beatles/visit.htm
