Awards season is in full swing with yet another red carpet event on Saturday night 23 January, The Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Abbreviated to the SAG Awards (what a horrible abbreviation!), some newer faces from the small screen are gracing the red carpet this year, with the ladies churning out serious red carpet style one red carpet event after the other.
Perhaps the greatest transformations are from the stars of Glee. If you haven’t cottoned onto this series yet, tune into TV3 on Wednesday nights at 8pm or E4 on Monday nights at 9pm. It’s like High School Musical for adults – sounds naf but it’s great!
Checkout the funniest Youtube video ever from Glee, where Kurt does a great version of Beyonce’s “If you like it then you should’ve put a ring on it”.
Back to the Screen Actors Guild Awards, here were my favourite ladies from the night, from left to right.
What: Cast member of Nine who presented a SAG award
She: Kate Hudson
Wears: Kate wore a backless white dress by Emilio Pucci.
Long white gowns were plentiful at the SAG awards on the night, showing that they are not just reserved for weddings. I liked Kate Hudson’s white dress which is a refreshing deviation from Pucci’s signature “print” style.
What: Winner of Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series
She: Lea Michele
Wears: The Glee star wore an Emerald green Catherine Malandrino gown (Check out Malandrino’s shop in our Style City New York feature).
The ruffled sleeves and banded waist are very flattering, giving off an all over regal look.
What: Award presenter on the night
She: Marion Cotillard
Wears: Marion Cotillard channelled a modern day flapper girl, wearing a one shoulder Elie Saab dress with t-bar platform heels.
Her brown locks were swept to the side and softly waved. In fact, I loved her hair so much that I’ve bookmarked for my next black tie event (a hairpiece will help to pull off the look for those with shorter hairstyles).
This little white dress was not the only one at the SAG awards, proving to be the most worn colour on the night.
What: Winner of Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series
She: Dianna Agron
Wears: Dianna channelled classic Hollywood in a white column dress by Georges Chakra. I barely recognised her on the red carpet; she looks way more grown up than she does on the TV where she played Quin, the cheerleader in Glee
Choosing my personal best dressed on the night was hard as I am torn between Lea Michele and Marion Cotillard but I think Lea pipped the title in the end for her stunning appearance in green.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Lea Michele’s dress. Amazing! Excellent choices again Annemarie. Only other one I would add would be Diane Kruger, even if it is a little ‘Michelle Williams at the oscars a couple years ago.’

I simply loved the green colour on her and in general. Dare I say it, even Miriam O Callaghan looked well in emerald green (Monsoon dress) at last years Iftas see http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatshewears/4311488079/
