The big band theme on Saturday 24 October inspired some serious Hollywood glamour amongst contestants and judges alike.
The most wow outfit, in our opinion, went to Cheryl Cole, who on Saturday night wore yet another Atelier Versace Spring 2009 dress. Cole ditched the short Atelier Versace minis from the previous two weeks, for a white, floor length gown which we thought was utterly divine. It was the same designer and dress that Penelope Cruz wore to the Vanity Fair Oscars after party in February.
Cheryl’s hair was like that of a 40’s Hollywood siren, accessorising with a modified bridal headband by Jenny Packham.
On Sunday night Cheryl upped the fashion ante in a Julian Macdonald silver scale mermaid-like dress (pictured) from his spring summer 2010 collection. Cheryl Cole is certainly a fan of Macdonald, as last week during her own live performance, her see-through body was by the very same designer.
Lucie Jones
Bridal designer wear were also a popular choice on Saturday, as both Lucie and Stacey wore customised dresses by Suzanne Neville. This designer won Best British bridal Designer 2009 and also dressed Miss Frank in chic suits on the night.
For Sunday’s group song, Lucie swapped designer for high street in a Lipsy futuristic prom dress, £60, €67 (pictured).

Just spotted Cheryl’s dress, well a close looking version, in the window of Julien, Stephens Green, Dublin for €350! It has a gold detail on the waist and on one shoulder but looks amaaaaaazing

Janet, Cheryl´s hairband is by Bristish bridal designer Jenny Packham. Pennys/primark had a smaller version recently which was more pearl than sparkly but I fear that its no longer in stock.

I found a bridal accessories website that sells Cheryl’s headpiece, it’s called Acacia II by Jenny Packham, £350 though!! I loved it, but perhaps it was a bit OTT for the show? The dress was stunning

Jackie, Danielle and Sunenah, Stacey’s coral or pink coloured maxi dress on X Factor 28 November is actually by Issa. This designer is normally on Net-a-porter or Matches fashion but this dress is not online which leads me to believe its for the new season, SS 2010.
