HM Studio Kids AW ’16

The H&M Studio AW16 kids collection is a world of fashion fantasy, filled with folklore inspiration. Influences come from stories such as Alice in Wonderland and the Swedish tales of John Bauer, with plenty of embellishment and prints. The collection will be available in selected H&M stores worldwide, as well as online from 8th September 2016.

“I love how the H&M Studio collection for kids turns folkloric fairytales into fashion reality. The details in the collection are amazing, creating pieces that have real character and charm,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

Folkloric influences run throughout the collection, with key styles including an embroidered lace jacket with matching flared skirt, and a black velvet cape with gold embroidery. Volume is key for AW16, with billowing sleeved smocks and a poncho-style blouse. Illustrations add character to garments, with lynx prints and fun horse patterns on knitted sets.
Winter essentials take inspiration from fairytales, including a wool coat with bell sleeves and a detachable faux-fur collar. Dresses are playful, with a tiered rose printed design, or a white folkloric dress with lace trim and full skirt. Leather jackets and trousers have a rock star attitude, while a grey tailored coat, white tuxedo shirt and matching striped suit make tailoring child-friendly.

Accessories include charming party kits with cups, plates, napkins and invitation cards as well as embroidered animal masks, a crown, guitar, cowboy hat and boots, and even a hobby horse.
