Inspired by: Glee Style

Glee on

Today I’m inspired by the cast of Glee’s outfits in this video “You can’t always get what you want” . This is not hard for me, as I’m a huge fan of the series since it started airing here.

So when the dudes at Muzu.Tv sent me over this video to announce the fact they’ve launched a Glee Channel showing 38 Glee songs, I thought I’d share it with you as I feel that I’m not alone in this love affair.

In the series my favourite character is Kurt, but off screen,  you may have noticed that I’m also a fan of Lea Michele’s style (who plays Rachel in the series).

I especially loved her red carpet look at the SAG Awards – an emerald green Catherine Malandrino gown and also her one shouldered little black dress at the Grammies.

She’s on Twitter with a massive following and I’m secretly hoping that she’ll converse with me someday soon… I’m at in case you’re talking to her!

Back to the outfits in this song, the black dress with the red sash on “Rachel” and the other female Glee members reminds of a Jovani dress that I’m lusting after but which alas is no longer for sale.

The fact that it was worn by Michelle Heaton during her cameo appearance-turned-fiasco on The Apprentice Final (if you missed it, see it here …even just to see the dress) is not a deterrent – I still love the dress with its statement oversized red bow tied at the back and red sash which continues around the front.

Think I’ll buy a red strip of material in my local haberdashery and add it to my little black dress to achieve this Glee look.

P.S I’m not being paid to show this video or to plug Any editorial or opinions on the site are my own or those of contributors. If you’d like to check out the Glee Channel, go to

My favourite is Kurt, too – he actually seems the most potentially interesting character…hope we see more of him this series…

Yeah love Glee and that dress – made version for myself 2 years ago – had black prom dress and got wide sash made which was black to the front but big pink bow at the back – still love the dress. Went next stage and got pink tulle petticoat for underneath for full on satc look – bit mad but love it and very recessiontastic!

Yvonne, it sounds fab – well done you. I could never do that to a dress (I wouldnt know where to start) but some great tips there for readers. I’ve seen tulle skirts outside “Retro” a vintage type shop I like in Georges Street Arcade in Dublin – where did you get yours?
