Thousands of Irish fans are expected to turnout this Saturday 13th November when Forever 21 opens its doors to Ireland at 10am in Jervis Shopping Centre, Dublin 1.
The store boasts 69,000 square feet and offers an exciting collection of fashion forward pieces at affordable prices over three floors. Dublin’s store opening marks the brand’s debut in Europe.
With the closure of the Arnott’s project in the Jervis Street shopping centre it looks like Forever 21 is set to take its place, do we see a tough competitor for H&M, Penneys and Topshop? A definite possibility!
Being the first of its kind to open in Europe before fashion hotspots such as Paris and Milan definitely inserts a much-needed thrill into the Irish fashion world.
With humble beginnings in the heart of street style movement that was L.A in 1984, Forever 21 has ever since produced edgy and too the minute clothing that won’t leave your bank account laughing at you the next time you attempt to withdraw some cash.
In fashion land next season’s items have already been chosen but unlike the designers whose winters collections have already been mused over, the high street collections are a lot harder to view as they are more often than not based on the designer trends. But if Forever 21’s winter collections are as good as this summers treats there is a definite reason to be excited.
Forever 21 has such self contained labels within its brand name such as ‘Twelve by Twelve’ and ‘Heritage 81’ you’re not going to know which way to look. Heels and elbows at the ready ladies because it is going to be one manic handbags at dawn opening event.
I’ll be covering the event at the media launch this Friday from 6pm, so follow me on Twitter for your first glimpse of the store and behind the scenes news . Rumour has it that London fashion girl Jaime Winstone will be front of the queue to check out the latest looks, while MTV Presenter Laura Whitmore will be playing a soundtrack of style on the decks. Irish models making it in America, Cerri McQuillan (Project Runway) and Roz Lipsett are back in Dublin especially for the launch party, so it should make for some interesting style stalking!
