Attending the media preview of the Forever 21 Dublin the night before the store opened to the public was my most look forward to moment the week of the 12th November but the reality was a bit of a let down.
The good people over from Forever 21 in LA were still working all night to get the place finished, so we missed out on seeing all the accessories and only got to see the clothes collections from afar, cordoned off by ropes.
With the Daily Mail reporting that prices are 20-25% more expensive than the US store prices (standard we think compared to what the UK stores charge us), the price tags I saw for tops and dresses averaged 20 euro.
However, that didn’t stop people having a good time. At 7pm the launch party kicked off with London fashion girl Jaime Winstone arriving in leopard print, while MTV Presenter Laura Whitmore played some seriously good tunes on the decks. Also present was Irish model Roz Lipsett, one of the only Irish models to make it in the USA, who was back in Dublin especially for the launch party.
Yours truly and some seriously stylish ladies such as Laura Whiston of Whisty Blogs Dublin Fashion were snapped for the RTÉ.ie fashion at the Forever 21 media launch last Friday 12 November at Jervis Shopping Centre.
What She Ate: Goats cheese and red pepper frittata
What She Drank: West Coast Cooler
What She Walked Away With: A goodie bag full of a cool tee in a soft cotton that Americans only know how to make an umbrella and a credit card holder for guys
What She Overheard: Quips of disappointment as there was no shopping allowed on the night. So all that was left for us to do wait ‘til the morning and style stalk the event away. Check out the social snaps below.

That is a pity you weren’t able to shop on the preview night or get close to the clothes for that matter.
I took a visit the other day and did a u-turn back out of the store. All I could see when I first went is was cheap knitwear and an array of colourful winter coats that didn’t have a nice handfeel. Maybe I’m pre-judging, but it didn’t draw me in. Will give it another test drive!
