Shopping: Floral Dresses

I have a weakness for floral dresses. Most of all, I like them fitted with a pencil skirt.

Come summer time, I get them out from the vacuum pack at the back of my wardrobe and move them to the front where I can see them – waiting for the good weather to give them “an outing” so to speak.

Last year I got this black and floral from Warehouse, which I wore to the John Minihan Photography expo to Kildare Village.  Here I am wearing it, (pictured left) with Mr M., my other half (my better half some would say).

This red oriental print one (right) from Ingenue London has vintage feel to it – also something I bought last year and which I’m hoping will make an appearance again this summer.  I love how wide the belt is and how it can be tightened to cinch in the waist.

My latest purchase is this blue one which I’ve just ordered from ASOS petite (pictured centre) which has pockets, a detail I love on dresses right now – it makes them more comfy or something!

Sleeves are another “must-have” factor for the dresses I choose – so when I search on online shops, always for a “dress with sleeves”.

Tea dresses are really popular as a floral dress choice these days and with the 1940s look to them, are popular amongst those who love a vintage style dress. When it comes to fabulous tea dresses,  I especially love the Bottega Veneta tea dress which Katy Perry wore recently (available at Netaporter, €4,300).

Ingenue London’s Lotte Oriental Black Flower dress (£89) is a good way to get Katy Perry’s tea dress look for less – it also comes in white with red florals too which would be my dress of choice for events such as a garden party, Taste of Dublin, Bloom or the Chelsea Flower Show.
