First Look: Tara Jarmon

On Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting fashion designer Tara Jarmon, who was in town to host a series of trunk shows in Arnotts to showcase her autumn winter 14 collection.

The setting was in Clodagh’s Kitchen, the restaurant run by Chef Clodagh McKenna, which is located on the top floor of Arnotts. Guests at the intimate gathering enjoyed a French themed breakfast; café au lait with a choice of granola and berries, omelette or French toast – I had the latter which was served with Gubeen smoken bacon and can vouch that it was indeed delicious.

We chatted to the designer about how she finds inspiration for each collection, her current work (designer autumn winter 2015) and how excited she was when Kate Middleton wore one of her coats (writing Kensington Palace on the package was an exciting moment for her, Tara gushed).

The woman herself oozes elegance so its no wonder that her design aesthetic is all about chic and she is renowned for her dresses and coats. This season’s line does not disappoint with statement coats in pink and black and white (pictured above), a two piece in blue and black (pictured) a dress in royal blue with an intricate white collar and a black lace v-neck dress with a grey underlay.

You can check out the collection for yourself in Arnotts Department store, Henry St. Dublin or see
