As with most sartorial sightings, a trend is first spotted on the catwalk, then seen on the glitterati and often filters down to the high street.
Balenciaga showed us embellished collars in contrasting colours (we still love THAT Peter Pan collar on Carey Mulligan), while Miu Miu had a softer take on the trend with round, feminine collars.
Today we look at a summer take on the look, as seen here by one of our favourite tastemakers, DJ and TV presenter Fearne Cotton.
At the launch of her new summer line for online store Very.co.uk, she wore Dutti Platform Shoes (€54) and a Dip-Dye Silk Dress (€82 at Littlewoods.ie), both of which are from her collaboration with Very which is described as “a bit vintage, a bit glam, a bit rock chick and very Fearne”.
Her launch look pictured here is sweet yet quirky. The bright pink collar further accentuates the dresses’ shading, giving a modern injection to 70’s dip-dye.
If you’re keen to emulate Fearne’s pretty ensemble, we suggest checking out her dress on Littlewoods or if you’re not one for online shopping, then try Penneys Limited Edition Butterfly Dress (€21, pictured below in the gallery) – both are cute options that will work for evening events.
Style Tip: To avoid taking the focus off the collar, keep the rest of your look neutral
Not a dress wearer and fancy separates instead?
Then go for a blouse and pair of trousers. This pink scalloped edge blouse (€17), another piece from the Penneys Limited collection, will allow you to get this cute yet kitch look if paired with a pair of black cropped trousers (£35/€54), by Fearne Cotton for Very.co.uk available at Littlewoods.ie.

It would be perfect if she could just lose the tattoo. Easier said than done I guess!
