Look Forward To: Summer in Dublin

Until now, when anyone ever said to me “Summer in Dublin”, I immediately thought of of the Bagatelle song “I remember that summer in Dublin, with the Liffey as it stank like hell. And young people walking down Grafton Street. Everyone looking so well.”

Well Dublin’s come a long way since then (Decide for yourself if the Liffey still stinks but everyone is looking even better!) and this summer has some exciting events to look forward to including The Summer Sensational Festival in Temple Bar, The Dublin Viking Festival at Wood Quay, The Street Performance World Championship in Merrion Square and Lunchtime Outdoor Opera (every Thursday in August) at the Civic Offices.

Check out our events listings for upcoming events happening in the city.

Dublin Shops

Shopwatch on WhatSheWears.ie is first to bring you new store openings as they happen, but it’s good to know that we can choose from over 4,000 shops in the city, some of which are showcased here.

P.S If you’re ever looking for a particular brand and don’t know where it’s sold in Ireland, drop us a line on info@whatshewears.ie and we’ll tell you where you can buy it.

Halston Heritage

My favourite “Summer in Dublin” look is the purple Halston Heritage dress (pictured centre and available at Brown Thomas, €592.55). And not just because of Sarah Jessica Parker who, as producer and star of the Sex and the City movie, used her investment in Halston to get their outfits into the movie. And you know how much we can’t wait to see THOSE outfits.

Designed by Marios Schwab, Halston Heritage is an updated version of the iconic Halston silhouettes of the 1970’s, worn by Bianca Jagger & Liza Minnelli. Today you’ll see this minimal, elegant collection worn by the likes of Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie on the red carpet.
