Last Saturday saw the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby hosted on a Saturday evening for the first time in its 147 year history and it was a thrilling day with a live concert by Ronan Keating keeping race goers entertained after the races.
The most stylish lady award went to Caoilinn Taylor McGlade from Rathfarnham, who received a 5 star holiday to Dubai and a €5000 voucher to spend with luxury jewellers Boodles. Sunday saw Debenhams’ Ultimate Ladies Day competition, won by Caroline Webb from Rathoath Co Meath who got to meet fashion designer Ben De Lisi who was present as judge on the day. Caroline wins a trip to Debenhams London Design Studios, where she’ll meet with Ben de Lisi who will create an exclusive bespoke dress for her worth over €5,000.
Donning their glad rags for the races were Irish Rugby star Gordon Darcy, who is due to tie the knot later this month, alongside Brent Pope, Anne Doyle, current Miss Ireland Rebecca Maguire, top model Rozanna Purcell and fashion designer Paul Costelloe.
We also spotted stylish racegoers AnnMarie O’Leary and Carol Kennelly (who coincidentally won The Curragh heat of Brendan Courtney’s hat competition, Who Wants’ to be a Milliner) who have all graced the Street Chic pages of WhatSheWears at the Dublin Horse Show and Galway Races.
