Pregnancy Style: Cropped Tops

Pictured above: I have a crop embellished top which I bought in Zara this summer and which I wore to Westport Festival in June. Here I am pictured wearing it with my sister (main image above). It fits nicely now and I am hoping it will fit OK to wear above the bump for the Christmas party season .

I’ve made a discovery.

Cropped tops fit well and easily above the bump and as there are so many in the shops right now (Not the teeny weeny ones worn by Teenagers) there are shorter length tops out there.

I’ve found that buying normal crop tops in a bigger size works well dressing the bump.

Here’s one I picked up in the Sales at Miss Selfridge (pictured below at Week 23) – which I wear to work over a black wrap dress. My pre-pregnancy style is a size 10 but for the cropped top I’ve gone a few sizes up, to a size 16.

What to wear it with?

I’ve worn it over a long length, black long-sleeve t-shirt (New Look do some good maternity basics – 3 long sleeve tops for €24 buy t-shirts in your pre-pregnancy size) and H&M Mama maternity trousers or jeans.

I also see them working over a plain black maxi dress – I still haven’t found one yet (looking for one with long sleeves).

Here’s another top that changes the look for a plain black dress – it’s currently on Miss Selfridge and I nabbed it in a size 16 too.
