This week saw the opening of the Christian Louboutin Dublin boutique, the labels first in Ireland and the brand’s 34th store worldwide.
The 75sq m retail space hosts a collection of bags and shoes (including the 1970’s inspired Boulima and the ruffle-detailed Etneu Etneu slingback) and was designed by New York based 212box. The two “salons” feature a hand-blown tear-drop chandelier sourced from Syria, custom made pieces by London recovered furniture experts Squint and a collage of over 5000 laser cut wood tiles with letters welcoming customers in 28 languages.
Christian Louboutin in Ireland is housed within The Shoe Rooms at Brown Thomas Dublin http://www.brownthomas.com/ . The red soled shoe is NEVER sold online, so if you’ve seen it online, I’m afraid to tell you that it’s a fake.
Prices for pair of Christian Louboutin black patent pumps start at €450.
So, what else has Christian Louboutin been up to?
The new Blake shoe designed by Christian Louboutin for Blake Lively (pictured) will hit Christian Louboutin boutiques next month (£635). The Gossip girl starlet revealed recently that the iconic shoe designer had honoured her with her own style!
When Victoria Beckham showed her autumn winter 2011 collection at New York Fashion Week, it included pretty fabulous Christian Louboutin collaboration of straight knee high boots (pictured).
Next week will see Louboutin collaborate with Roland Mouret for his AW catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week. And that’s after already collaborating with up and coming designers Holly Fulton, Mary Katranzou and Jonathan Saunders to custom make shoes for their autumn winter shows, which were showcased this week at London Fashion Week.
In 2011, the brand will expand globally in 15 stores.
