Today, Irish designer Catriona Hanly hosted a press preview to showcase her first ladieswear capsule collection for Spring Summer 2015 and I popped along to have a look.

Renowned for her stand out creative designs and flare, the collection combines the perfect colour accents with flattering silhouettes, brightening up your Summer wardrobe with key stand out designs hitting the seasons 70’s and strong whites trends on the head.

The collection comprises 53 pieces including dresses, blouses, trousers and skirts with a diverse colour palette encompassing warm corals, soft pinks and lilacs from sweets shades to vivacious statement tones, mint greens and baby blue hues. The capsule collection was inspired by summers spent in the South of France and the innate sense of style and fashion that the French embody. With a nod to old Hollywood glamour, Catriona aimed to infuse some of this old opulent style and glamour into everyday wear for today’s woman. The fabrics used throughout the collection are versatile and ‘tres chic’ as the patterns and block colours complement one another across the board.

Speaking about the new collection, designer Catriona Hanly commented, “For my first ladieswear collection I wanted to use bright, exciting colours that would really exude fun because I truly enjoyed every minute of designing this collection. We have tapped into a couple of the key trends for the season, mainly the 70’s vibe with our lavish prints and flared trousers. My overall inspiration for the collection came from many days spent in the South of France. We have adapted French style influences into every crevice of the collection, from the large pussy bow blouses to the chic separates and lavish silk pieces.

The Spring Summer collection will be available to purchase online at www.catrionahanly.com from Monday, 9th March 2015 onwards. Prices start at €170 for a selection of organza blouses to €365 for printed dresses.
