If you’re anything like us, you love a good soppy movie (Serendipity is an all time favourite) so it’s no surprise Hollywood jumped on THE VOW, a true story about a newlywed couple recovering from an accident that puts the wife in a coma.  Starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, he has to fight to win her heart all over again.

The Vow hits cinemas on 10th February and is the romantic drama to see this Valentine’s Day – check out the trailer here.

At the beginning of a new year, it’s all about making resolutions, which, let’s face it; will probably fail within a few weeks. The one constant for me through it all is a brand new diary and I take great pleasure in finding a nice, hardback A5 sized one for my desk each year.  For a luxe version, Smythson do some gorgeous ones in Brown Thomas or Harvey Nichols but this year I chose an Easons one which does the job perfectly for under €7.

This annual ritual is now accompanied by the purchase of a nice glossy notebook, filled with plain pages, that fits in my handbag, to jot down notes, ideas and to-dos as I go about my daily business.

The perfect one landed on my lap today. It’s A5 in size, hardback and made by none other than Lanvin. That’s right, from the French designer fashion house, Lanvin! It’s truly gorgeous and even has a pink ribbon to mark the page you’re on.

2011 was a great year for WhatSheWears.ie and I want to thank each and every one of you for reading the newsletter, for visiting or commenting on the site, recommending us to friends or for liking us on Facebook.

So in thanks, I’m giving away this Lanvin notebook to one of you. I only wish I had one for “everyone in the audience”!

Last night WhatSheWears got a sneak preview of the Clarins SS12 makeup collection makeup collection for 2012, Colour Breeze where Clarins International makeup artist, Claude Defresne showed me what was on offer.

The palette is one of corals, pinks and teals and features the Colour Breeze Face Palette (€37), a gorgeous highlighting powder with a touch of pink blush.

My favourite product was the liquid Instant Light Blush (€23), which comes in three colours (pink, coral and bronze) and which Claude dabbed onto to my cheekbones in 01 Vitamin Pink.

The Blue Sky Eye Quartet Mineral Palette (€40) is a gorgeous mix of blue and sea green toned eye shadows which can be used dry or wet or indeed as a bright eye liner.

Eight shades of Gloss Prodige lip glosses (€17) and Jolie Rouge moisturising lipsticks complete the collection.

Last spotted on K-Middy circa 2010, the fascinator’s died a fierce death and has been firmly replaced with bigger, more statement headpieces at races and weddings alike.
