Other Info	The 4th Annual Golden Egg Irish Fashion Innovation Awards take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Galway on Thursday 28th March. Recognised as a launching pad for Ireland’s top designers, this year’s event has attracted entries from over 120 up and coming fashion creative’s competing for the prestigious awards. A shortlist of aspiring designers and students from fashion colleges throughout the country will showcase their top designs in the hope of being crowned winner across one of five categories- ‘Student Designer of the Year’, ‘Accessory Designer of the Year’, ‘Jewellery Designer of the Year’, ‘Millinery Designer of the Year’, ‘Fashion Designer of the Year’. Shortlisted entries include students from national colleges such as National College of Art and Design, Limerick School of Art and Design, Galway Technical Institute and University of Ulster. Eight rising stars, including Laura Jayne Halton who has designed the Oscar red carpet dress for Kerry short film producer Fodhla Cronin O’ Reilly, will showcase their latest collection in the ‘Ones to Watch’ category. Award winning French-born, Kerry-based Delphine Grandjouan will be also displaying her stunning new collection as the Special Guest Collection Finale to the show. The House of Delphine was the recipient of the Irish Brides Magazine Bridal Designer of the Year Award and also of the Kerry Designer Award. Adjudicators on the night are Eddie Shanahan Chairperson at the Council of Irish Fashion Designers, Lisa Brady, Sunday Business Post fashion journalist and Patricia McCrossan, Managing Director of Golden Egg Productions. The brainchild of Patricia McCrossan of Golden Egg Productions the awards give visibility, support and a voice to young design talent throughout Ireland, offering an unrivalled opportunity for their work to be shown to a jury made up of fashion design experts. “The Golden Egg Fashion Innovation Awards are unique in Ireland- and they are seen as providing a rite of passage for many of our top designers as they make their way up the rungs of the fashion ladder,” says Patricia. “We have a fantastic track record to date with some of Ireland’s best know designers making their national debut at the Golden Fashion Innovation Awards. Our “Designer of the Year” 2012, Natalie B Coleman has enjoyed huge success since the show last year dressing Irish stars such as Kathryn Thomas, Sharon Corr, Charlene McKenna and Laura Whitmore,” concluded Patricia. The 10-day beauty extravaganza event will see some of the world’s top make-up artist’s descend on the Arnotts Beauty Hall and they will be on hand to advise customers on how best to fill their make-up bags and create looks from the base upwards. Other Info	Tickets have now gone on sale for the St. Vincent de Paul Infants and Girls Schools Fashion Show which will take place on Friday, 22nd February in Clontarf Castle to raise much needed funds for the schools. This fashion extravaganza, entitled ‘Round The Clock Fashion’, will feature clothes from Arnotts, Clerys, Quack & Dirk, New Look, Only, Vero Moda, Carraig Donn and milliner Polly McGettigan, showing the latest fashions from day to night wear. Adding to the glitz and glam of the night will be a showcase of designs by one of Ireland’s leading haute couture designers, Jen Kelly. Walking the catwalk will be teachers and parents from the school, led by professional model, Irma Mali, from First Options Modelling Agency. There will also be some surprise models from the world of sport including St. Vincent’s and Dublin footballer, Eamonn Fennell. The night will also feature live musical entertainment from the NDCGC Choir (who won first place at last year’s international Choral Festival), and the Ossia Youth Choir and there will be a DJ and dancing til late. A raffle will be held on the night with some amazing prizes including rounds of golf in Clontarf Golf Club, gifts from WhatSheWears.ie, beauty treatments and dinner for two in various local restaurants and hotels. Each person who attends will also receive a gift bag to take away. Tickets cost 20 euro and are available from members of the Parents Committee or by calling Nicole 087-2704912 or Una 087-2837664. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show will commence at 8pm. The show promises a night filled with fashion and fun, so make sure to book your tickets early.
