“Crafternoon Tea” takes place at Carton House this Saturday 17th March allowing guests the chance to enjoy a unique St. Patrick’s Day experience with a traditional tea service, locally sourced Irish food, glass blowing, knitting and handbag making workshops.
Carton House will be hosting a Knitting Clinic with the mavens from knitting wonderland This is Knit in the Powerscourt Townhouse centre. This is Knit will be holding a knitting workshop demonstrating anything from the purl stitch to casting on and answering visitors knitting dilemmas throughout the day. With everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker to Julia Roberts taking up the popular pastime, it is the perfect way to spend St Patrick’s Day.
The ladies from The Craft Lounge will be hosting a selection of master classes giving guests the chance to try candle making and Mother’s Day cards for children.
Greg Sullivan from Arena Crystal will be demonstrating the very intricate method of glass blowing and leading Irish handbag designer Anna Vahey from Ana Faye will also be on hand to host a workshop on bag making with materials supplied.
The creative minds from the kitchen at Carton House will also be hard at work serving a selection of sumptuous Irish dishes with traditional Irish music in the Kitchen Bar. Executive Chef Cathal Kavanagh has designed an exclusive and contemporary Irish themed buffet menu to tantalise the taste buds. Xtreme.ie will be catering for the younger guests with adventure activity including archery, laser and clays for the older children while Minder Finders will be holding children’s arts crafts and face painting.
Entrance fee to Carton House Crafternoon Tea, Adults €15 and children €10, under 5 years goes free or guests can purchase a family ticket for 5 people for €50.
