Today we’re not going in-depth into what everyone wore to the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Instead we are looking at two gorgeous gals who happened to wear the same designer and effect, namely dip-dyed gowns by Valentino. Let’s look at them in closer detail:
Rachel Weisz
Brunette beauty Rachel Weisz attended the Agora film premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in a racing green-coloured, chiffon dress by Valentino . Look closer and the colours on her gown get darker and more dramatic near the bottom – we’re calling this dip-dyed. With the dress, Rachel wears Cartier jewels — a diamond paves Trinity bracelet and art deco chandelier earrings. Bundling tresses of curls was the order of the day for Rachel’s hair.
Evangeline Lily
The Lost actress and the new face of L’Oreal makeup, Evangeline Lily, turned up in a turquoise version of the Valentino dress. She went to the Looking for Eric premiere (which features ex-footballer Eric Cantona). Her gown has a crisscross detail on the bodice, a high slit on the leg with the colour going from bright-to-dark turquoise toward the bottom. To top it all off, a slicked back ponytail was the hairstyle choice for this Lost legend. The colour and the high neck on Evangeline’s gown differentiated her from Rachel’s.

It’s a tough choice as they are both lovely but the turquoise one is just that little be different and a high neck can be risky whereas the green is a bit safer. I think it works for Evangeline Lily – her body type works for it.
