Brown Thomas showcased their spring summer collections last week in their Grafton Street store, flying in looks from the catwalk shows especially for the day. Attendees included the who’s who of fashion in Ireland; stylists, fashion magazine editors, journalists and bloggers.
While you can see the spring looks for yourself from our footage of the fashion show over here, today is dedicated to the stylish tastemakers who attended.
What She Ate: Fresh fruit platters and canapes
What She Drank: Freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee
What She Overheard: The excitement and chat when Shelly Corkery, Fashion Director for the store announced 59 new labels for 2011 including Brian Atwood and Mulberry shoes, Project D, Valentino Red, Vince and Opening Ceremony.
Pictured above left to right;
What: Karen Millen coat and buckle boots
She: Jessica Whyte, fashion editor Social and Personal magazine
Wears: This strong shouldered, structured coat looks like it came straight from the Vivienne Westwood runway and looks magnificent with her Burberry-esq buckle boots (minus the sheepskin). The coat is certainly the envy of the WhatSheWears office as we continue our search for “the one” (the perfect winter coat)
What: Wide brimmed hat and cropped trophy jacket
She: Roxanne Parker, stylist
Wears: When it comes to putting looks together, stylists have more sartorial know-how than the rest of us and with her big brimmed hat, Roxanne makes the spring trend look easy. In fact, channelling the 70s look is not just about the hat; it’s the way that she styles it with a cropped trophy jacket, black maxi dress and metallic accessories that makes it look flawless
What: Khaki dress
She: Stacey O’Donnell
Wears: Stacey shows us how khaki is eternally fashionable. The shoulder detail of her outfit gives off a military vibe while the zip detail throughout gives it a certain edge

hi Gillian, that dress is by Mary Katranzou. Her dresses are €1000 + and available in Brown Thomas, Dublin. She is also doing a collection of silk print dresses and scarves for Topshop where the price point will be much cheaper than her designer collection. You can buy those online on topshop.com from 7th Feb. see http://www.whatshewears.ie/mary-katrantzou-for-topshop/ Hope that helps!
