Kiehl’s Crème De Corps Collaboration with Pearl and Daisey Lowe for Temple Street

Kiehl’s, celebrity favourite and purveyors of luxury skin smoothing products since 1851, have just launched their best idea yet. With the help of Pearl & Daisy Lowe, the New York born brand have agreed to donate €2.50 plus VAT of the retail price of their cult classic Crème de Corps body lotion to Temple Street University Children’s Hospital.

The mother and daughter duo have re-designed a limited edition bottle which you can pick up from the Kiehl’s boutique on Wicklow Street or in their newly opened store in Dundrum Town Centre. The cream is a real luxury treatment for all skin types and with this charitable collaboration you’ll feel as good as your skin will look!

Lancôme Vernis in Love Nail Colours

For lots of people, nail varnishes are like collectables and a rainbow of colours adorn their dressing tables. Having been a boring French manicure person for many years, I’m a late starter with my collection but I’m really looking forward to adding some of Lancôme’s latest little gems to my small but colourful haul. Vernis in Love is a 20-strong shade range, with a good mix of understated neutrals and brilliant brights. Since opening up to colour, I’ve found the Rimmel ones the easiest to apply because of their fat brush.

The experts in the Lancôme lab have taken this concept one step further with a patented brush that has a grooved stem so the varnish flows directly to the centre of the brush for a more even distribution. The rounded base helps the colour to glide on with a uniform finish. They really do give a manicure-fresh finish and are quite durable and chip resistant. They’re coordinated by colour into three cute Parisian themed groups Jolis Matins for daywear, Tonight is My Night for eveningwear and Boudoir Time for romantic nights in. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on them.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxegen Wow Foundation

I realise in last month’s beauty round up I waxed lyrical about the Avon Ideal Flawless foundation and while I am still a diehard fan, Benefit’s latest launch makes a strong contention for my heart and my face.

Hello Flawless is an exciting addition to the brand for many reasons but mainly because it’s their first liquid foundation. Benefit founders Jean and Jane Ford have apparently been formulating the stuff for a long time and to be fair despite the long wait it’s makes some very impressive promises:

•    It contains an SPF 25 and is the only foundation to offer a PA+++
•    Its ‘Oxegen Wow Hydrating Complex helps to boost cellular respiration for a ‘plumping up’ effect
•    It contains vitamin C and E to help prevent the signs of aging

It’s a ‘brightening’ foundation which immediately set alarm bells ringing for my slightly oily complexion and unfortunately I did find myself looking a little too glossy for my liking by mid-day, despite its oil-free formula. I gave a bottle to a friend to try and she said her normal to dry skin loved it and she noticed a definite luminosity to her skin. It’s sheer-medium on first application though the coverage is ‘buildable’.

I’d recommend setting it with a dusting of its powder equivalent Hello Flawless compact which will give better coverage without feeling like your slathering on rounds of layers and will help with shine-prone skin.

Availability: March 31st. €30
