Beauty: Colour Pop at Style Club

I’ve gone to Peter Mark hair dressers for years. My regular salon is great (it’s Jazz in Sandymount and Brown Sugar in South William Street for a special blow dry treat) but if I’m ever in Dublin, Mullingar or Galway and in need of a quick blow dry, I’ll pop into a Peter Mark and they will nearly always take you on the spot. Their 20% off all hairdressing services offer is nearly always running too.

Recently, I discovered a new side to Peter Mark in the form of Style Club in North Earl Street, Dublin 1. They’ve also got Style Club salons in South William Street and in Pavilions shopping centre in Swords. It’s a whole new take on Peter Mark – the interior is funky with bright colours,  loud music, TVs and slick furnishings.  Just take a look at the photos on their website and you’ll get an idea!

I love the indulgence of going to a hairdresser. You’re pampered from the minute you step inside the door and leave with great looking hair. If a genie granted me a wish, I’d love to have a personal hair dresser to style my hair every day! I try to get to the hairdresser for a curly blow dry if I have an important event to attend and curly blow dries are my latest addiction. It’s  not something I can achieve at home and Niamh, my stylist at Style Club not only gave me a great curly blow dry but gave me tips on how to curl my hair with a GHD too. She also said that adding product to your hair is key to maintaining the curl – for me she recommended Kerastase which she applied before blow drying.

Niamh added a “colour pop” treatment to my hair which is essentially a “pop” of colour, which colours your hair for 8-10 washes and adds heaps of gloss too. It’s a low commitment to colouring your hair and can be a great solution if you’re looking to try a look for a short time. You may be blonde and want to try out the pink hair trend – well this is the perfect way to do it as the colour is only there for  8-10 washes. I chose a colour nearest my natural colour as I wasn’t looking for a colour change, just lots of shine and gloss.

The colour lasted exactly what Style Club said it would and the curly blow dry lasted three days.  I always try and get 3-4 days out of a hair style by adding dry shampoo to my hair instead of washing it with shampoo on days two and three – Batiste is the brand I use and they now have a dry shampoo for brunettes so it sprays on brown instead if that awful white/grey spray from the regular Batiste.

Colour Pop is exclusive to Style Club and costs €20 on top of your cut or blow dry.
