As Seen On: RTE Fourlive

Last week WhatSheWears made an appearance on RTE Fourlive.

I was asked to join top Irish fashion designer Jennifer Rothwell, to revamp…wait for it…my wedding dress! It’s been sitting in my wardrobe for ages now and when Jennifer was looking for candidates to up cycle their clothes, I jumped at the chance! She did more than upcycling to my dress, as you’ll see in the video below which describes it all.

The set of RTE Fourlive

I spent half the day in the RTE studios, getting my hair and makeup done, going through a rehearsal, drinking cups of tea and hanging around – it’s amazing to see how it all comes together – and the appearance itself is all over in a matter of minutes!

After hair and makeup, the makeup artist told me to get changed in a dressing room only to find that half way through getting dressed, Sharon ni Bheolain, the newsreader walked in, so I had to scamper off pronto!

I must say though, that it’s hard watching yourself on TV. I was not impressed with how many pounds the camera adds – I didn’t help myself by wearing white.

Here are the details of what I wore:

What: RTE Fourlive, 8th November
She: WhatSheWears editor, Anne Marie B
Wears: Jovani Battenberg full length white gown, up styled into a Carrie-esq dress and worn with a red headpiece – both Jennifer Rothwell. The shoes are from Schuh (€75) and clutch is Penney’s (€10) – both bought that morning!

A special thanks for the gorgeous bangle, which was made by Irish designer Emma Taylor of Ruby Jewels, who loaned me the piece for the day. Check out her contemporary designs on – I wanted to keep all of her statement necklaces when I saw them, they were so divine. All available at Project 51.

And obviously, a huge thanks goes to Jennifer Rothwell for reworking my wedding dress. Jennifer is wearing a red jersey dress, one of her own designs, available at Project 51.

Here’s  the YouTube video which details all the work Jennifer did.

I’m hoping that it’s started a series of DIY inspired articles though…well at least one more!
